"Challenge of change" conference officially inaugurated
The Challenge of Change conference, the eighth joint conference of the Zagreb Stock Exchange and the fund industry, is taking place in Rovinj from 23 to 25 October.

The conference represents the central gathering of the financial community from Croatia and the region, and this year almost 40 speakers and about 450 participants from all branches of the financial industry, mainly from Croatia and the region, attend the conference.

Co-organizers of the Conference are the Zagreb Stock Exchange and the Association of Pension Fund Management and Pension Insurance Companies (APFI).

The conference was inaugurated on behalf of the organizer by Ivana Gažić, President of the Management Board of the Zagreb Stock Exchange: We are extremely pleased that our joint conference has been gathering an increasing number of participants and speakers for the eighth year now and is recognized as the central exchange of ideas and knowledge of the financial industry in Croatia and the region. We want to open and encourage dialogue on topics that the financial community can contribute to overall economic growth, address the challenges of this industry and offer solutions, said Ivana Gažić.

For the tenth consecutive year now, daily business newspapers Poslovni dnevnik in cooperation with Zagreb Stock Exchange presented awards for the best investor relations, with the companies whose shares are constituents of the CROBEX index and those listed on the ZSE Prime and Official Market as eligible candidates; the award criteria include compliance by the issuers with the Exchange Rules and results of a survey conducted among capital market participants.

The award for the third ranking company went to AD Plastik d.d., the second-ranking company was Atlantic Group d.d. and the top-ranking company award went to Valamar Riviera d.d.

The participants were addressed by the Minister of Finance, dr. Zdravko Marić, followed by lectures by Ante Žigman, President of the Governing Board of the Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency, and Governor of the Croatian National Bank Boris Vujčić, following lectures by Uto Baader, founder of Baader Bank, and former Estonian Prime Minister, Taavi Roivas.

In panel discussions, prominent experts presented their thoughts on the future of the Croatian pension system and the possibility of establishing a receivables market, while experts from numerous financial institutions spoke about global and European economic and market trends and trends in the capital market and asset management.
