To date, over 7.000 young people educated free of charge

The Zagreb Stock Exchange Academy once again actively participated this year in marking Global Money Week and European Money Week.

Global Money Week is a leading worldwide initiative aimed at raising awareness about the importance of financial education and financial inclusion for children and young people. To date, more than 60 million children and young people from 176 countries have taken part in its activities.

The initiatives carried out during Money Week focus on improving financial literacy among young people through various forms of formal and informal education.
The goal is to help them acquire, from an early age, the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors necessary to make sound financial decisions.

With the globalization of financial markets and increased digitalization, consumers are being offered increasingly complex financial products and services.
At the same time, there is a growing imbalance between the information and resources available to providers of financial products and services on one side, and users on the other. This makes strengthening financial education capacities even more important.

The Zagreb Stock Exchange Academy has been participating in Money Week activities since 2014, when the initiative was first marked in Croatia. Since then, nearly 2,000 pupils and students from across Croatia and abroad have taken part in the Academy’s programs during this week.

This year, the Academy organized lectures for around 300 students from Trogir, Zagreb, Dugo Selo, Đurđevac, Rijeka, Vukovar, Nova Gradiška, Osijek, Šibenik, Split, and Čakovec, providing them with basic knowledge about capital markets and stock exchange trading.

Founded in 2010, the Zagreb Stock Exchange Academy is today the largest provider of financial market education services in Croatia, with more than 16,000 participants and over 140 educational programs.
The Academy places strong emphasis on corporate social responsibility and on improving financial literacy among the general population, especially young people.

In addition to participating in the Operational Working Group monitoring the implementation of measures defined in the Croatian Government’s Action Plan for improving consumer financial literacy, the Academy has so far provided free education to more than 7,000 young people.
